Listen to this song, 'Long Weekend' by Ricky Wong.
Ricky Wong — a familiar name in the music industry. With countless albums recorded and performances on jazz and pop concert stages, he once took a temporary leave from the jazz scene. Ricky's piano playing is crisp and refined, reminiscent of classical music, shining brightly in the quiet of the night.
In 2025, he released a brand-new personal album, 'Silent Invitation' (which includes the current background music), reigniting his passion for jazz. Featuring eleven original compositions, he flew to Japan to record with guitarist K.Kwan (on two tracks), bassist Satsuki Kusui, and drummer Yuto Maseki. For Ricky, this album is a return to his roots: jazz and piano trio.
Back in Hong Kong, he will be performing a selection of jazz standards along with several pieces from 'Silent Invitation', soon to be released this year, with bassist Justin Siu and drummer Dean Li, longtime collaborators at Blue Study.
The entire evening will be acoustic, accompanied by intricate, exquisite, and high-fidelity sound processing — without any unnecessary post-production. Only wood, metal strings, cymbals, top-notch microphones, breathing, and focused, creative energy. The atmosphere is playful yet intimate, with a slow rhythm and a completely trusting dialogue between the musicians, creating these sparks.
